Information you provide

• Account registration: name, email address, and password.
• Listings: title, description, price, location, photos, contact phone number, and category.
• Messages: content of communications between buyers and sellers on our platform.
• Reviews: written feedback and star ratings you leave for other users.
• Payments & promotions: billing details processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).

Information collected automatically

• Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs.
• Usage data: pages visited, listings viewed, search queries, and time spent on the platform.
• Cookies & similar technologies: see Section 6 below.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
• Publish, manage, and moderate listings.
• Facilitate secure messaging between buyers and sellers.
• Process payments for promoted listings and other paid features.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, listing status updates, messages).
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or prohibited activity and abuse.
• Improve, personalise, and develop our platform and features.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
• Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

• Other users: your public listing details (title, price, location, contact number if provided) are visible to all visitors. Your name is shown on your listings and reviews.
• Service providers: trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics). These parties are contractually bound to keep your information confidential.
• Law enforcement & regulators: where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
• Business transfers: if ListGarum is acquired, merged, or its assets transferred, your information may be part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in Nepal and/or trusted cloud infrastructure providers. We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
• Hashed and salted password storage (your plain-text password is never stored).
• Role-based access controls limiting staff access to personal data.
• Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments.

While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

5. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 7). After deletion, we may retain certain information for up to 90 days in backups and as required to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Listing data (including sold or expired listings) may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form for analytics purposes.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Essential cookies: keep you logged in and maintain your session.
• Preference cookies: remember your filter and sort preferences.
• Analytics cookies: understand how visitors use our platform so we can improve it.
• Security: Google reCAPTCHA v3 is used on forms to detect automated abuse. Google's Privacy Policy applies to reCAPTCHA data.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality.

7. Your rights

Under applicable privacy laws you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or out-of-date personal information.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Complain about a privacy concern by contacting us directly at the email address in Section 11.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

ListGarum is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Links to third-party sites

Our platform may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Your continued use of ListGarum after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
