ListGarum started with a straightforward idea: Nepal deserves a classifieds platform that is truly free, easy to use, and built with local buyers and sellers in mind. Too many platforms charge hidden fees, show outdated listings, and offer no protection against scams. We set out to change that.
Today, ListGarum is Nepal's most feature-rich free classifieds marketplace. Sellers can post ads in under two minutes. Buyers can search in plain language and find exactly what they need. And everyone is protected by AI fraud detection running in the background on every listing and message.
We cover 22 categories — from cars and electronics to property, fashion, jobs, and pets — and we serve buyers and sellers in every major city across Nepal, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lalitpur, Bharatpur, Birgunj, and Biratnagar.

Our AI description generator helps sellers write compelling ads from just a title and category. Our natural language search lets buyers describe what they want in plain words and get results instantly — without touching a single filter dropdown.
Every listing on ListGarum is scanned by our AI scam detector before it appears to buyers. Suspicious pricing, fake item descriptions, overseas seller scams, and advance-payment requests are all flagged automatically with a clear warning. This runs silently in the background on every single listing and every incoming message.
We also built the Safe Meetup Locations feature — a curated list of public meeting spots (banks, shopping malls, police stations, airports) matched to the seller's city across Nepal. Every listing detail page suggests the nearest safe spots so buyers and sellers always have a trusted neutral ground.
Our platform supports secure in-app messaging, a formal price offer and counter-offer system, seller reviews and ratings, verified seller badges, QR code sharing, image watermarking to prevent photo theft, saved searches with email alerts, and a full Progressive Web App that works offline on any device without needing an app store.

What the AI listing assistant actually does
A lot of people find it hard to write a good ad. They know what they are selling, but putting it into words that attract buyers takes time and practice. The AI listing assistant on ListGarum solves that problem in seconds. You type the item name and pick a category. The AI reads those two things and writes a full description for you, covering key features, condition, what a buyer should check before purchasing, and any details that help the item stand out.
You keep full control. If the AI writes something that does not fit, you can edit any part of it or delete it and write your own. Most sellers find that the AI gets it about right and just clean up a few details. The result is a listing that looks professional and gets more responses than a one-line description.
The assistant also helps with category suggestions. If you are not sure whether a second-hand treadmill goes in Sports and Fitness or Furniture and Appliances, the AI will suggest the best fit based on the title you enter. Correct categorisation means your listing shows up in the right browse pages and in more searches.
Our AI-powered natural language search lets buyers describe what they want in plain words instead of typing exact product names. A buyer can type "affordable used laptop for university student in Kathmandu" and the search system will understand each part of that phrase, extract the key details like price range, condition, product type, and location, and return the most relevant matches from the database. No more filling in five separate filter dropdowns to find something.
Scam detection runs on every listing before it goes live and on every message sent through the platform. The AI looks for signals like prices that are far below market value, descriptions copied from external websites, mentions of overseas shipping or PayPal, and advance payment requests. If a listing or message triggers the detector, a warning appears before the buyer takes any action. This happens automatically on every single interaction, with no manual checking required.
We have been working on these tools since 2024 and we keep improving them as scam patterns change. Our goal is to make sure that every person who uses ListGarum, whether they are buying a used phone or renting a flat, can trust that what they see on screen is genuine.
